If you already work with an AI assistant — Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or another that supports MCP connectors — you can connect it to your Leadmeister account and run your outreach by conversation: "set my signature", "who would today's email run contact?", "how did last week's emails do?".
This is separate from Tyler, the assistant built into Leadmeister. Tyler lives inside the app; a connected assistant lives wherever you already work, alongside your other tools.
Connecting your assistant
- In Leadmeister, open Connections and find the AI assistants card.
- Choose an Access level (see below). It is Off until you change it.
- Click Copy to copy the connector address.
- In your assistant, add a custom connector and paste the address. In Claude this is under Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
- The assistant opens a Leadmeister sign-in page. Sign in with your normal Leadmeister account and approve.
That's it. Ask your assistant "what's my Leadmeister setup status?" to check it's working.
Your CRM, email account and LinkedIn are still connected by you on the Connections page — an assistant can't do that part. If something isn't connected yet, the assistant will tell you and give you the link.
Access levels
You decide how much a connected assistant can do. You can change this at any time on the AI assistants card, and only you can change it — an assistant cannot raise its own access.
- Off — Nothing. Every request is refused, even from an assistant you've already connected.
- Read only — Look things up: your settings, runs, results, quotas, and a preview of who a run would contact. Nothing is changed or sent.
- Manage — Everything in Read only, plus: change your outreach settings, search for and enrich prospects (using your credits), push prospects to your CRM, and pause or cancel runs.
- Full access — Everything in Manage, plus: start and resume outreach runs.
A good way to start is Read only, then move to Manage once you're comfortable.
What you can ask for
- What's left to set up before I can send? — checks your connections and settings and lists what's missing
- Set my sender name to Jane Smith and add our pricing page as a reference URL — updates your email settings
- Here's my signature — use it — saves your email signature
- Which CRM views can I target? — lists the views in your connected CRM
- Only contact people who haven't been touched in 30 days — builds the criteria for you
- Who would an email run contact right now? — previews the lead list without sending anything
- Go ahead and start it — starts the run you just previewed (Full access only)
- Pause the LinkedIn run — pauses it
- Why were some leads skipped yesterday? — looks at the run and explains the skip reasons
- How did last week's emails do? — reports sends, replies and reply rate
- Find 20 heads of sales at UK software firms and add them to my CRM — searches, enriches and pushes — telling you the credit cost first
- How many enrichment credits do I have left? — checks your usage against your plan
What your assistant can and can't see
When you ask a connected assistant something, Leadmeister sends it the information needed to answer — and the assistant's provider (Anthropic for Claude, Microsoft for Copilot, and so on) handles that information under your agreement with them, not ours.
Depending on what you ask, that can include:
- Your outreach settings — sender name and company, signature, AI prompt, reference URLs, word limits, schedules.
- The names of your CRM views and fields, and your lead criteria.
- In a run preview or run report: the name, job title and company of each lead.
- Your prospect list, including business email addresses you have enriched.
- Run history, results, quotas and your plan.
It never includes:
- Your Leadmeister password or sign-in session.
- The access tokens for your CRM, mailbox or LinkedIn.
- Payment card details.
- Anything from your Google account — not even the address of a connected Gmail mailbox.
- The contents of your inbox. Leadmeister doesn't read it, so there is nothing to share.
If your organisation has rules about which AI tools may handle customer or prospect data, check them before connecting an assistant. Setting Access to Off stops everything immediately.
Safeguards
- Runs are always previewed first. An assistant can only start a run for a lead list it has just previewed, and the run is pinned to that list — nobody who wasn't in the preview is contacted. Ask your assistant to show you the list before you say go.
- Scheduled sending stays in your hands. An assistant can save a schedule for you, but it is always saved switched off. You turn scheduled runs on yourself, on the Run Setup card.
- Your plan's limits still apply. Daily email and weekly LinkedIn allowances, LinkedIn pacing, word limits and credit quotas are exactly the same as in the app. An assistant can't exceed them.
- Unsubscribes and opt-outs are still honoured. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and anyone opted out is skipped automatically.
- Disconnecting is up to you. An assistant can't disconnect your CRM, email or LinkedIn.
- You can see what it did. The AI assistants card lists the recent actions your assistant took — settings changes, prospecting, runs started or stopped — and anything it tried that was blocked.
Turning it off
Set Access to Off on the AI assistants card. It takes effect immediately for every connected assistant. You can also remove the Leadmeister connector in your assistant's own settings.
Troubleshooting
"AI assistant access is switched off" — set an access level on the AI assistants card (Connections page), then ask again.
"…needs Manage" or "…needs Full access" — the assistant tried something above the level you've allowed. Raise the level if you want it to do that.
"This sign-in has no Leadmeister workspace yet" — you signed in with an account that hasn't finished setting up Leadmeister. Sign in to the app in your browser, finish setup, and try again.
"That preview has expired or was already used" — previews last ten minutes and work once. Ask the assistant to preview the run again.
The assistant says something isn't included in your plan — the same plan limits apply as in the app. See the Subscription page to upgrade.
